MicroFinanza Rating is a leading microfinance rating agency. Since 2000 we strive to produce independent and qualitative information that promotes responsible flow of investment towards the microfinance industry. This is achieved through provision of a comprehensive package of institutional and social performance assessment services to microfinance institutions (MFIs), investors, regulators, donors and networks.

Our decentralized organizational structure comprising of regional offices in Quito, Managua, Mexico City, Bishkek, Manila and Nairobi together with our international team of professionals are key to ensuring deep knowledge of our clients and local markets. MicroFinanza Rating has performed about 600 assessments so far in over 60 countries worldwide.

MicroFinanza Rating is a qualified and indipendent rating agency officially recognized by the Rating Initiative launched by ADA Luxembourg, the Moroccan APP and the Latin American Rating Fund II. Moreover, we are an active member of the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and are actively participating to the Smart Campaign, whose Client Protection principles we have endorsed. We are the first specialized rating agency to be recognized by a national regulatory authority (Superintendency of Banks and Insurance in Ecuador) and licensed to carry out credit ratings of regulated financial institutions. Our Social Rating Department is pioneer in the development and servicing of the "comprehensive" methodology whose added value is now internationally recognized by the microfinance industry. Specifically, our social ratings and social diagnostics address issues relating to client protection, transparent pricing, corporate social responsibility, among other, therefore promoting responsible microfinance practices in the industry worldwide.
